NEWS-

New Zealand Prime Minister has announced a number of measures to counter Covid-19.As of midnight tomorrow, every person arriving in New Zealand (apart from those coming from the Pacific islands) will have to self- isolate for 14 days.All cruise ships are also being asked to not come to New Zealand until June 30. However, this does not apply to cargo ships.At her press conference in the weekend, Ardern said “we have two choices as a nation. One is to let Covid-19 roll on, the other is to go hard on measures to stamp it out. The government is also warning New Zealanders to avoid all non-essential travel overseas – this helps reduce the risk of a New Zealander bringing Covid-19 in.Over the weekend large scale events such as the Christchurch memorial and the Pasifika Festival were also cancelled.

Statment-
What do u think about COVID-19?
I think this virus is not to play around with, I think we should stay at home until there is a cure becasue it is not safe to go out.

Today as I checked online then I that there is about 300 and something cases now in New Zealand. New Zealand is now on lock down (Level 4), For use who doint know what lockdown means, it means to stay at home and dont go out. Now in New Zealand we only allowed to go out for shopping  and then stright home but to be able to get out of the house you have to have a              note with you all else the cops will give you a find.

Remeber-
And remember to always wear cloves and the mask to protect you from getting sick,COVID 19.

Flood In the Kitchen

‘Sione  look there's water coming in, aye say lord’ said Tevita. There were 3 friends having a      

     sleepover, Tevita, Horsey and Sione. Sione,Tevita and Sione all play Rugby League.

The 3 friends were having a feed in the house then suddenly a lighting went straight to their
backyard then all of them just kept eating till they were full.  Sione saw that it was raining for
too long then he went to check if it was raining in the garage but then he opened the door   

                                           water came into his house.

        But then all the water went down the Road, But the water was still in the Kitchen.

Then the 3 friends all got a broom then tried to brush all the water out before Sione’s mom came back.
Hurry dox, My mums gonna give us trouble’ said Sione. Tevita got angry cause he was doing all the
work, Then Sione and Tevita got into a fight then Tevita got mad and left 

                                                      to go home.

After Sione and Horsey quickly mopped the whole kitchen to turn out spotless,
‘Sione come get the shopping, Okay coming’ said mum. Then Sione’s mum came into the
Kitchen and said ‘Who cleaned the kitchen, We did’ said Sione. But suddenly when he opened
the Fridge   

        all the water came out. Then Sione and his friend had to clean the Kitchen again.

                ‘G Tevita all good Sorry dox, All good Sione, Yo later see ya tomorrow’.

                         Then the 3 friends all got back together and had a happy life.

                   Today we have been talking about Predetars like                                                 Possums,Stoats,Dogs.

              
Predator Free 2050
85 million years ago NZ was one of the first countries to split apart from Gondwanaland. Gondwanaland is when all the land in the whole Earth was together in one big country - they split up and became the continents. This meant that the only mammals NZ has, either swan here or flew here. 

Because NZ is an island with no mammals, the birds, insects etc became defenseless (because they had no predators to hide from). Maori and Europeans settlers killed lots of animals, and brought with them predators from other countries (for example possums, rats, stoats, dogs). 

Those predators brought here by settlers, have destroyed our native birds/plants. NZ has one of the worst extinction records of any nation in the world. 

NZ has been trying to control the pests by using traps, poisoning but it hasn’t really worked. We need to work together to control the pests. 

It is everyone’s responsibility to control pests and protect native species - all New Zealanders.

3 Cousins

At a City called Oklahoma There were three wise cousins, Horsey,Loisey and Kuma.
Horsey is Good at Shooting, Loisey is good at Being Chief and Kuma is 

                                   good at being police.

One Cold Freezing night the 3 cousins were sleeping then Kuma heard a loud bang outside,
Then he went to check who was outside then he saw blood and a dead body.
After he came inside to watch T.V and while he was watching something
showed up on the screen saying ‘1 hour rest please close your

         windows and protect yourself’ then it suddenly turned off. 

‘Horsey, Loisey get up and get my bag upstairs and also close all your windows’ Said Kuma.
Then Kuma, Horsey and Loisey got their guns out then 

waited till someone came to try kill them.

‘Hello anyone here ...Okay coming In! An american soldier came in then Kuma
pointed the gun at him but he didn't know. ‘But the gun down I will call it off I’m a soldier!
Then the 3 cousins stopped and then went outside to see who was there then they went
in the truck then they all got out of the city.

So then they never returned back to their hometown, Then they had a good life.

We have researching about Rolad Dahl And his books, One the books I read was Tales of Childhood.
           This Book is about his life growing up as a boy, This book was published in  the 60s.

                                Rolad Dahl was born in 1916 in wales of Norwegin parents.
            He was educated in England before starting work for shell oil company in Africa.
He began writing after a 'Monumental bash on the head' sustained as an RAF fighter during the                                                                           second World War.
                          Rolad Dahl Sadly died in 1990 at the age seventy - four.

Pests in New Zealand

Today we have learning about pests in New Zealand like Weasels, Stoats, Possums and many more

Today we were with on of the workers for the zooz called Frazer , he showed us some pests that came from another counrty to New Zealand. One of the pests was called a headghog, possum,Weaseal
